A Message From The General Manager

To our valued customers,

I am sure you are aware by now that the price of propane has spiked dramatically. Many of you have called with questions and we have tried to provide answers to the best of our ability with the information available to us. We have seen the price of propane at record highs and unfortunately it came on within a matter of days.

There was no way to predict what happened and really no perfect explanation or opportunity to warn our customers. We want you to know that we are at the mercy of the suppliers and we do the best we can to get you propane at the best possible price. Although that has been extremely tough lately, we have still managed to remain competitive and even below the big national chains. In addition to remaining competitively priced, we have maintained our level of service providing same-day or next-day service when we are hearing many of the larger companies are taking 7 to 10 days to make a delivery, leaving many customers without propane for extended periods of time including those who are completely out.

As of this time, our supply of propane has been uninterrupted, and so far we have been able to meet all of our customer’s needs. In addition to the cost of propane and supply issues across the country, we have also encountered other trickle-down effects. We are currently required to pay for propane when it is delivered to our facility and therefore, we must ask that our customers pay for their propane when it is delivered. As uncomfortable as this is for all of us, it is simply a matter of fact at this time.

This will remain in effect until the terms with our supplier revert back to the previous terms. With regards to our auto-fill or route program customers, we are currently in the process of contacting each one of you personally to determine your need for propane at the current price at this time. We feel it is necessary to allow you the option of refusing to “top off your tank” with propane prices at an all-time high. If you have not heard from us, please check your tank and contact us if you would like to receive a delivery at the current pricing.

With the surge in propane prices and depleted reserves across the country, we are offering the following tips to help you conserve propane:

  1. Turn your thermostat down to a minimum setting. Take advantage of programmable thermostats.
  2. If you have south-facing windows open the blinds during the day to let heat in.
  3. Limit drawn baths and take short showers.
  4. Keep outside doors closed on garages etc.
  5. Supplement with electric heaters where safely possible.
  6. Turn hot water heaters down.
  7. Use throws, blankets etc. when sitting around the house to be more comfortable with lower thermostat settings.
  8. Burn firewood when possible (BE SURE FLUES AND CHIMNEYS HAVE BEEN PROPERLY CLEANED).

In closing I would like to personally thank each and every one of you for your loyalty to Wayman Oil Company. We do not take the responsibility of ensuring your warmth and safety lightly. Your continued praise, to friends and family, is helping us grow on a daily basis and we truly appreciate it. We strive to provide “Year-Round Dependable Service.” We do not believe we are simply selling you a gallon of propane; it goes far beyond that. We are providing your propane service, start to finish, day or night, weekend or holiday.
Sincerely,

Clyde Wayman
Owner
